OUR HORSES
At Long Meadow Ranch we specialize in the breeding and training of quality ranch, trail, and family Appaloosas and POAs (Pony of America). The Appaloosa breed is extremely well-suited to the terrain of the Mayacamas Mountains and to the trails of Long Meadow Ranch. The Pony of America breed features pony-sized horses (less than 56 inches at the withers) marked like Appaloosas with bloodlines contributed from the Quarter Horse and Arabian breeds.  Bred primarily as an all-purpose pony for adolescent boys and girls these ponies are ideal for 4-H and youth competitions and make wonderful trail horses for small adults.
