Ratings 93 points Wine Enthusiast - Dec 2012 "...a very fine wine, considering the cool vintage, and shows the winemaker’s ability to play with the cards he was dealt. The wine is dry, with rich tannins framing blackberry, currant and cherry flavors with earthy hints of sage and tea. Drink now–2018." - SH
Vineyard Notes The 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon expresses terroir, the personality of our vineyards in a cool growing season, and the positive effects of decades of winegrowing experience in the same place. The 2010 growing season was cool and late. Patience, confidence and hopefulness influenced the picking decisions which were later in the season than any others in Long Meadow Ranch's history. We were rewarded by fruit that was ripe indeed and classically structured.
Winemaker Notes ” The nose has notes of blackberries, the briar patch, cedar, dried herbs and a hint of smoky black tea. The palate is structured and refreshingly generous with additional flavors of dried plums, cherry and cola. The well-knit tannins and pleasant mouthwatering acidity support a persistent finish laced with rich notes of cedar and vanilla. The pure expression of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varietal characters and the wine's refined balance will promote pleasing development during extended bottle aging.” - Ashley Heisey
Food Pairing Notes Perfect with LMR Grass-fed Highland beef, with lamb, or with roasted game.
