Position Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative, self-motivated individual who is passionate about organic farming, wine and olive oil. Long Meadow Ranch is a diversified 650-acre organic farming operation in the western hills of the Napa Valley above Rutherford. This position is for a sales associate for our 6-acre market garden in Rutherford and Long Meadow Ranch's participation in the weekly St. Helena Farmer's Market.
Reports to:   LMR Rutherford Gardens Retail Manager
Time Requirements:  Wednesday 11 AM - 7 PM LMR Rutherford Gardens roadside stand
Thursday:
11 AM - 7 PM
Harvest and preparation for the St. Helena Farmers' Market
Friday:
6 AM – 7 PM
St. Helena Farmers' Market and roadside stand; two shifts 6 AM - 2PM or 11 AM - 7 PM
Saturday
8 AM - 6 PM
LMR Rutherford Gardens roadside stand
Core Responsibilities:        
  • Strong knowledge of Long Meadow Ranch / LMR Rutherford Gardens products
  • Ability to generate sales of our wide array of organic fruits and vegetables, olive oils, and excursions to visit the Ranch through use of effective selling techniques
  • Create and maintain retail product displays (i.e. set up and break down both Farmer's Market and Rutherford Gardens Roadside Stand)
  • Cash handling
Professional Requirements: 
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • General knowledge of farming, fruits, vegetables
  • Self-motivated and self- managing
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • High standards of ethics and integrity
  • Able to lift 30+ lbs
  • Capable of standing for long periods

Compensation:    Hourly based on experience.
