“Long Meadow Ranch’s property in Napa Valley has a long history dating back to the Civil War. After struggling during prohibition, the site was purchased by the Hall family in the late ‘80s who set out to revive the land. Today, it’s thriving with over 2,000 acres of grapes, olives, fruits, vegetables, and pasture. And those grapes make great wine. This Merlot is a blend from its two Napa Valley estates and is extremely approachable and focused. The nose has a notes of earth with hints of brambly blueberries and pepper. The palate is beautifully balanced with an impressive fruit concentration and lithe tannic frame.” – Keith Beavers

“When you have a high amount of clay in the soil, grapes tend to give deeper, more concentrated characteristics. Long Meadow Ranch’s Perrygulch is their sloping vineyard with the highest concentration of clay of most of their other plots, along with some sand, and slit for drainage. This wine is a direct expression of the land in which these vines are thriving. This beautiful wine has a leather nose with earthy cherries and a whisper of cinnamon. The palate is rich around the edges and soft to its core.
