Prepare for a captivating late afternoon of music at the Timothy Hall Foundation Benefit Concert, held on October 4th on the outdoor stage at Farmstead at Long Meadow Ranch.
The LMR Jazz Orchestra celebrates the 100th anniversary of Miles Davis’s birth with a concert drawn from across his extraordinary career. Trumpeter Aaron Janik takes on the music at the center of the evening, joined by baritone Jamie Davis, former lead vocalist of the Count Basie Orchestra. Together with the LMR Jazz Orchestra, they will revisit music Miles made famous, along with the sounds and styles that surrounded him over five decades. It is a centennial tribute to a musician who never stayed in one place for long and whose work helped change the direction of jazz again and again.
This 14th Annual Timothy Hall Foundation Concert sustains the foundation’s 26-year record of grant-making initiatives that support innovative, cost-effective K-12 school programs in arts and sciences, including school gardens, animal husbandry projects, and music curriculum.
